Connecting with Community.
Serving with Compassion. Building a better Moorhead for all!

My vision

Community Engagement

Our city prospers when elected officials value constituent input and build paths for them to weigh in on decisions affecting Moorhead. Having advocated for more accessible governance during my eight years on council, I remain committed to keeping you informed, engaged, and assuring your voice matters.

Development

Moorhead is transforming. We've turned blighted areas into spaces that bring us together—from the new library and community center to new apartment buildings, and the addition of fun local hubs. We are finally seeing real momentum, but to thrive, we need more retail and other businesses to invest in Moorhead. I pledge to continue to champion businesses we have and the recruitment of new ones.

Growth

Families are choosing to call Moorhead home, making our city the engine of Clay County's record growth. To support this thriving community, we must invest in critical needs like a new fire station and work to make homeownership affordable for more families. Many residents are facing increasing financial strain. I will fight to ensure that our city’s growth is managed with fiscal discipline to minimize your property tax burden.

My accomplishments

  • Downtown Revitalization: Worked with city staff and council to begin renewal of downtown Moorhead.

  • Public Safety: Championed initiatives to reduce staff shortages in police and fire departments.

  • Transit Advocacy: Successfully blocked extreme cuts to MAT Bus services.

  • Inclusive Economy: Teamed with Indigenous and new American entrepreneurs to launch Moorhead Global Market events.

  • Accessible Recreation: Worked to make our city parks and trails accessible, to promote active living at all ages and abilities.

Why I'm running for re-election

It has been an incredible honor to represent you on council over the past eight years. We’ve seen remarkable growth and progress. Clay County is the fastest growing county in Minnesota outside of the Twin Cities Metro, and most of that growth has been here is Moorhead! But we also face challenges including lack of affordable housing, rising costs, and increased strain on our city infrastructure and public safety. I look forward to continuing to work with you to address critical challenges and to make sure our growth brings benefits to all who call Moorhead home.
